Brief Bio:

I began my career in public education and spent many years in government relations, so a change to working with people in a therapeutic setting was a significant shift. I spent internship working in a university counseling center, which also welcomed clients from the community. Through candidacy (which has occured in three states), I have spent time in private practice settings and, most recently, a non-profit agency.
I have worked with people struggling with anxiety, depression, grief and loss, relationship issues, questions of faith, and life transitions. During my training at The Allender Center in Narrative Focused Trauma Care, I developed a passion for working with childhood trauma with individual adults and in groups.
My goal is to enable my clients to make connections between past experiences of harm, how those moments shaped them, and how their ways of being impact them and their relationships currently. I help indivividuals name the patterns that cause them pain and keep them stuck with the goal of opening them up to new ways of being that lead to greater freedom and authenticity.

Involvements & Interests in Psychoanalysis & Psychodynamic Therapies:

I attended a grad program at SNU and training at The Allender Center at the Seattle School of Theology and Psychology, both of which tended toward a psychodynamic / psychoanalytic foundation. While I am inclined toward these orientations, I have much to learn and look forward to doing so through OSPS.
